Program Structure
4- or 8-weeks program for a small group of primary or secondary aged children
A small group of selected children participate each week
Sessions are for approximately 1 to 2 hours each week
Sessions include learning a range of mindfulness strategies, meditations, and positive
Psychology exercises
The group works effectively with approximately 4 to 6 children
Aims of the program
To empower children and adolescents to self-manage and minimise the symptoms of anxiety and stress
To develop emotional intelligence skills and build emotional resilience using a range of effective coping strategies
To teach children mindfulness exercises they can use for life
To build reservoir of strength to enable children to cope with life more effectively
To teach self- calm, journal and express their worries
To teach life-long skills to manage stress and prevent stress build up
To support children and adolescents to know they are not alone with suffering from anxiety
Being attuned to their own bodies and minds
Understanding and recognising their own feelings
Being in the flow more regularly and enjoying more of the present moment
