Miss Teen Australia
I was delighted to be asked to be one of the guest judges for the Miss Teen NSW finals recently and it even brought on some flash backs of the days when I used to enter these competitions. It was a very proud and exciting moment to have the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience both as a mentor and as a skin health advisor.
Providing skincare and beauty tips to the young entrants was thoroughly rewarding.
Take at look at the Miss Teen Video.- Van to send through the video.
Teen Simple Cleansing Regime:
Whilst on the topic of teens, I decided to jot down a simple skincare regime for teens to follow. It is vital to look after your skin at a young age and to develop a skincare regime that you will hopefully follow and stick to by habit. This will be your foundation for life, get this foundation right now, along with a healthy lifestyle and well balanced diet, and your on your way to beautiful radiant looking skin!
Morning Cleansing Ritual – How to achieve a fresh clean skin
1. Cleanse once in the morning, to refresh the face.
2. Moisturise- Hydrate skin and help promote a protective barrier over your skins natural lipids.
Apply Sunscreen SPF 30+ over the top of your moisturiser and to reapply throughout the day. This helps to protect the skin from ageing and harmful effects of the suns nasty UVA and UVB rays.
NOTE:
* Important to cleanse the face after sporting activities, otherwise your pores will become blocked causing congestion like blackheads and pimples.
* Vital to know your skin type and current condition, this will determine what cleanser and moisturiser is best suited for you.
* Visit your local beauty therapist to successfully determine your current skin condition.
Do you know your skin condition?
Do you have Oily, Normal, Dry, Combination or Sensitive skin?
Weekly Ritual
Exfoliate twice a week to remove dead skin cells and to allow moisturising creams to sink through to the deeper layers of the skin.
TIP- If using a granular scrub please be careful not to apply too much pressure as you may cause broken capillaries and sensatise your skin.
Mask
Depending on skin condition at present, either patch work your mask to particular areas on your face. For example clay mask on impurities and cream mask to hydrate other areas on face.
Evening Ritual
1. Cleanse twice at night. Very important as during the day excess sebum, damaging pollutants, environmental aggressors and make-up all take toll on the skin.
2. Moisturiser
NOTE
The above tips is for an every day skin condition, if suffering from acneic skin, extreme sensitivity or any other extreme skin condition please contact myself or a qualified skincare practitioner for an in-depth skincare consultation and further medical advice.
